Frequently AskedQuestions
Your questions, our answers

The new Age Grid is valid from the new 2024/2025 season and will be valid until the last event of the season in 2025.

There are no entirely new categories this year; we have mainly tweaked a few details, such as the minimum number of participants or the wording of some categories.

We have adapted the naming and subdivision to international standards. This makes it even easier for you to compare on an international level, and we think the new subdivision offers a lot of age-appropriate possibilities and opportunities.

In the Open Peewee, Open Junior, and Open Senior categories, we have made the age groups and number of participants more flexible to provide you with greater flexibility. For example, if your team does not meet the minimum number of participants or the age structure specified by the IASF, we still offer you the opportunity to compete in our events.

The IASF Open categories (such as IASF Open, IASF Open Small Coed, IASF Open Large Coed, etc.) follow the IASF requirements, such as a minimum number of 16 participants, and are eligible for bids to The Cheerleading Worlds.

“NT” stands for “Non-Tumbling” and means exactly what it promises: tumbling elements are not judged in this division and do not have to/may not be shown.

The Global Divisions have been retired from international stages (such as The Cheerleading Worlds) – so we are doing the same. Farewell, Global divisions!

Due to the lower demand and the large number of new divisions, we unfortunately had to say goodbye to this level. Short and sweet, it was nice having you, Level 6+!

Those who have been paying attention in recent years might have noticed categories like “Open Coed 4 Level xy” or “Open Coed 16 Level xy”, where the numbers referred to the maximum number of male participants.

To make the categories easier to pronounce for everyone, we have changed the wording to “Small” and “Large”. The maximum number of male participants remains the same: maximum of 4 males in Small and maximum of 16 males in Large.

However, there is a new addition starting now: the 1/3 2/3 rule in the Open Coed and Large Coed categories. Check out the next question for more details on that!

This refers to the gender composition rule: it means that at least one-third of the team members must be female and no more than two-thirds of the team members can be male.

Yes, the 2/3 specification pertains solely to the maximum number of male participants allowed.

If you have more than 2/3 male athletes in your team, deductions are specified in the IASF Rules.

The routine times in the cheer categories only indicate a maximum time and can therefore also be shorter than the respective length indicated.

No, bids are not awarded at all championships. Please check the event-specific pages and documents for all information regarding potential bids.
